Zoe Alker

Zoe was a project RA from 2015 to 2016. She is now a Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Liverpool.

Since completing her thesis, ‘Street Violence in Victorian Liverpool’ in 2014, she has been working on the ‘After Care’ project which uses digital record linkage to explore the impact of youth justice on the lives of young offenders in nineteenth-century England. Her research interests are digital humanities, the intersection between criminology and history, and the ethical implications of presenting crime histories in the public domain.

Zoe is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has founded and contributed to a wide range of popular blogs including the Journal of Victorian Culture Online, Prison Voices, Our Criminal Past and The Conversation. She tweets @victoriancrime.
